EXPIRED RESIDENCE PERMIT HOLDERS RETURNING TO GHANA
Following the reopening of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra to commercial flights with effect from 1st September, 2020, the Ghana Embassy wishes to clarify that penalties charged on expired Ghana residence permits have been waived for persons whose residence permits expired whilst outside the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This category of persons would be deemed to be returning residents and would no longer be required to pay penalties.
