GHANA SHINES AT THE ONGOING 46TH AFRICAN UNION EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING IN ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA
(3) Ghanaians have been elected to various roles in the African Union Commission during the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 12th to 13th February, 2025.
Ambassador Amma Adomaa Twum-Amoah — a career Diplomat and Ghana’s former Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Somalia, South Sudan, and Permanent Representative to the African Union, has been elected to the position of Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development for the term 2025-2028.
Hon. Edem Kwami Senanu — a Management and Development Consultant with thirty years working experience, currently serving as a Member of the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption has been re-elected for the term 2025-2029.
Ambassador Jane Gasu Aheto — a career Diplomat, Ghana’s former Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea and Guinea Bissau and an international lawyer with over three decades of experience in the Ghana Foreign Service has been elected as a Member of the African Union Commission on International Law for the term 2025-2029.
