The Embassy of Ghana in Brussels in collaboration with the British Embassy, Brussels, organised a watch party for the Group L Matchday 2 fixture between England and Ghana at the ongoing 2026 World Cup on Tuesday, 23rd June, 2026 at the Chancery if the Embassy.

The event began with remarks from the Deputy Head of Mission, Dr. Innocent Badasu who remarked on the significance of the event as just not a watch party but a celebration of the strong ties between the two countries. He also highlighted the impact of migration where England had now become home to 2nd and 3rd generation immigrant Ghanaians who are still proud of their Ghanaian and British heritage and contribute to both economies.

The Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy, Elizabeth McKinnel thanked the Ghana Embassy for the warm reception and atmosphere and echied the special bonds that bind both countries.

The remarks were followed by the national anthems of both countries and wonderful performances by the Adinkra cultural troop who entertained the massive crowd with the traditional jama sounds and songs before game.

DJ Abena also entertained the crowd with a great music during event.

The crowd also enjoyed a wide spread of Ghanaian dishes over the course of the evening.
